We like to think of values as an organisation’s anchor. In times of challenge, success and change, they remain constant and can provide confidence, pride, comfort and engagement across all levels of an organisation. Thinking of your own anchor, are your values accessible to everyone within your teams? Are these values owned by everyone across your entire organisation? According to research from Rungway, 52% of employees can’t recite their organisation’s vision, while 49% can’t recite their organisation’s values.
It would be all too easy to attribute this disconnect directly to the individuals who are struggling to recall their organisation’s values. Instead, we believe that organisations have a responsibility to create an environment where these values are shared and embedded within the DNA of teams and individuals alike. This begins with values-led recruitment, and its importance never lessens – especially as teams face uncertain climates and times of challenge.
Recently, 13 place-based care system leaders visited Natural Leaders to explore their strengths, purpose and behaviours. Here’s what happened:
Away from existing hierarchies, Natural Leaders is a purpose-built experience that will help your teams to re-connect to your vision, values, mission and purpose. Blending our inherent understanding and application of behavioural design with the raw, unfiltered feedback of our working dogs and Herdwick sheep, this exploration will create new dynamics and rapport within your teams. Working together, we can identify any potential barriers that are impacting upon your values, as well as creating a toolkit and techniques to empower every individual to take pride in owning and living your values.
